Loire Valley and Normandy tour
(7 Days - Departs Daily on a Private Basis)
Next, Bayeux where you will spend three nights. Despite being the first large town liberated by the Allies in Normandy in 1944, Bayeux escaped serious damage during the Second World War, much of the delight of history lovers. During private touring explore Sainte Mère Eglise, the Airborne Museum, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, the Pointe du Hoc and the US Cemetery.
On the way back to Paris, you will have the opportunity to stop in Giverny for a visit to Claude Monet's house and gardens. The pink house where he lived from 1883 until 1926 has had its colourful décor restored once again...
DAY 1: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE LOIRE VALLEY
High speed 1st class train transfer to Amboise. Lunch in a well-known patisserie. Private tour of Amboise with a visit to the Royal Château of Amboise and the last residence of Leonardo da Vinci with a private English speaking guide. Dinner in a restaurant with local specialities and night in Amboise at a 4* hotel.
DAY 2: LOIRE VALLEY CHATEAUX
You will appreciate a visit to the grounds and the Château de Chenonceau, a supreme example of Renaissance architecture and the impressive Château de Chambord and its beautiful park. Dinner left free.
DAY 3: GARDENS AND WINES, A TRUE LOCAL EXPERIENCE
Full day private tour of the Château de Villandry and its outstanding gardens, the graceful Château d'Azay-le-Rideau and a private wine cellar followed by a unique wine and cheese tasting. Gastronomic dinner in Amboise.
DAY 4: NORMANDY AND THE TAPESTRIES OF BAYEUX
Private transfer to Bayeux for three nights with visits to the city centre and the Bayeux Tapestries listed as a “Memory of the World” by UNESCO. Gourmet dinner in Bayeux and night at a 4* Chateau hotel.
DAY 5: NORMANDY LANDING BEACHES
Full-day private tour of the famous landing beaches Sainte Mère Eglise, Airborne Museum, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the US Cemetery, with an English speaking guide. Lunch and dinner left free. Night in Bayeux.
DAY 6: HONFLEUR, DEAUVILLE AND TROUVILLE
Full day private tour of the charming and traditional cities of Honfleur, Deauville and Trouville with a private English speaking guide. Dinner left free and night in Bayeux.
DAY 7: GIVERNY AND BACK TO PARIS
On our way to Paris with a private driver/guide, stop in Giverny to discover Monet's house and peaceful gardens. Private transfer to CDG airport.
This tour starts in the Loire Valley and finishes in Normandy and can easily be combined with several days in Paris or with touring elsewhere in France.
