All about Loire Valley
Rich in history, fine gastronomy, exquisite wines and outstanding castles, the Loire Valley, also known as the “Garden of France”, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which offers fantastic visits. Our local insight makes all the difference, enabling us to provide an authentic experience, often inaccessible to other visitors.
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
The Loire Valley is located in the heart of France, only an hour from Paris by high speed train.
CLIMATE
The Loire Valley climate is pleasant all year round. From wonderful brown and red colours adorning the forests in autumn and snow covering the Loire châteaux in winter, to lush green valleys in spring and long sunny days in summer...
POINTS OF INTERESTS
The outstanding châteaux are undoubtedly the most impressive feature to discover in this region. The Loire Valley also has many wine cellars, amazing gardens and traditional villages to be explored. Moreover you can appreciate the Loire, the longest river in France, which offers a background of wonderful landscapes for a walk or a nice boat ride. La Touraine (at the heart of the Loire Valley, located around Tours and Amboise) is also the French region with the purest French accent, attracting many French language schools.
WINE & GASTRONOMY
You will have the opportunity to appreciate not only the exquisite wines produced in the region, but also ‘Sainte Maure de Touraine’, a delicious goat cheese, ‘rillons’, a pork speciality, and ‘poires tapées’ a pear speciality from a local village, Rivarennes.
WHEN TO COME ?
Thanks to its temperate climate, you can come to the Loire Valley at any time. Spring and autumn are fantastic. July and august are also a perfect time to come, as the temperature is never too high in this part of France, and most key places are off the beaten track.
