GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
Normandy and Brittany are located in the west of France, bordered by the Atlantic ocean.
CLIMATE
In Normandy, the sea air means the summer is very pleasant. In Brittany, the climate is mild due to the Gulf Stream, however because it is exposed to the Atlantic, it is often windy in this region : Brittany is a great place for sailing and windsurf lovers !
POINTS OF INTERESTS
The coast and its amazing landscapes, beaches and islands are to be discovered. Whether or not you are a history enthusiast, the D Day beaches and cemeteries are significant and moving sites. There are also many charming towns and villages classified as the most beautiful villages in France. You will also be impressed by Mont Saint Michel, also known as the “Wonder of the Western World”, a fantastic piece of architecture.
WINE & GASTRONOMY
There is one product you will find everywhere in Normandy : the apple! The local drink is called “cidre” and is made out of apples cider. You will also find butter, milk, cream and cheese in the majority of the local dishes, whereas in Brittany you will be able to taste crêpes and galettes, and the unique ‘far breton’, a typical patisserie.
WHEN TO COME ?
We will be delighted to welcome you in Normandy any time of the year. We recommend that you visit Brittany between March and the end of October, as the weather can be slightly wet and chilly in winter.
